green fly agaric or death cap considered one of the most poisonous gifts of the forest. Even experienced mushroom pickers can confuse it with edible ones. To protect yourself and your family from poisoning with a pale toadstool, it is advisable to carefully study its appearance, photo and detailed description.

Fly agaric green: description

The body of the fly agaric consists of a cap and a leg. The hat is hemispherical or flat, greyish, pale green or olive green with a darker and slightly domed center. Its edges are even, multiple membranes, pulp and caps are visible from the inside, and the legs are white. In diameter, the hat can reach 15 cm, in young specimens it is often covered with a film.

A thin leg in the form of a cylinder at the base has a thickening resembling a pot, tightly clasping it, its color is the same as at the top. The leg closer to the top is framed by a membranous ring-skirt. it has no smell, it is noteworthy that even its spores are poisonous.

The habitual habitat of the fungus pale grebe- sunlit glades of mixed and deciduous forests, it grows both in groups and singly. The young mushroom is very similar to the older one to the green russula.

Similar species: how to distinguish a toadstool?

To distinguish a blende from it does not hurt to study a photo of a toadstool and a mushroom similar to it. People are guided only by the skirt around the leg, but quite often it is either mild or damaged, as in the photo below. You can distinguish a young fly agaric from champignon by the following features:

  • champignon does not have a thickening on the stem at the base;
  • the color of the champignon cap, unlike the toadstool, is pink, sometimes purple.

What does russula look like, unlike pale grebe:
  • the absence of a thickening at the base of the leg in the russula;
  • the cap of an adult russula is slightly concave in the center.

Did you know? The fact that this mushroom is deadly poisonous was well known in ancient times, and they also knew that heat treatment absolutely does not reduce the toxicity of the product. Agrippina poisoned the Roman emperor Claudius with mushrooms, clearing the way to the throne for her son Nero.

In almost all edible mushrooms, the inside of the cap is colored pink, brownish or even red; in the toadstool it is snow-white. The legs of edible mushrooms are always strong and even, while those of decoys are often thin and twisted. However, due to poor ecology, such clear signs are not always present.

Important! If you are not sure that you have an edible mushroom in front of you, it is better not to take risks and not collect something suspicious.

The first signs of poisoning and help

The bad thing is that poisoning may not bother you right away, manifesting itself after 6-12 hours - this greatly complicates the treatment. Typical symptoms of poisoning:

  • sudden nausea and vomiting that is difficult to control;
  • diarrhea, while the stool can be with blood and mucus;
  • cutting and stabbing pains in the stomach;
  • strong thirst, feeling of dry mucous membranes;
  • weakness, headache;
  • complete apathy or strong excitement;
  • blurred vision and blurred consciousness.

If there is a suspicion of mushroom poisoning, you should immediately call an ambulance. Prior to the arrival of specialists, perform the following actions:

  1. Cleanse the stomach (drink a pale pink solution of manganese or warm salt water, induce vomiting by pressing on the base of the tongue with your fingers).
  2. Drink plenty of water to replenish lost water.
  3. Take a laxative and sorbents.

Important! These actions are inappropriate if the victim already has profuse vomiting and diarrhea, the only thing that can be done while waiting for the ambulance is to drink a lot to prevent dehydration, take a sorbent ("A activated charcoalยป ).

In conclusion, I would like to say: the pale grebe, despite its harmless appearance in the photo, according to the mortality statistics among the population, is ahead of the cases of bites of poisonous insects and snakes. You should not pick mushrooms if you are not sure of their edibility and safety.
